***UPDATE: FEB 13: My alopecia is still around, It seemed to improve but and then when I grew out my beard I saw some new larger spots. not as scant as the previous ones but seem to be growing. Still waiting to see what happens. As i need to be clean shaven for work it doesnt affect me me much yet.***
I had Alopecia Areata for a few years in 2000 on my head and beard.
It was quite severe back then and after 4 treatments of injections it went away and came back in 2008.
Again after 3 sets of monthly cortisone injections it went away.
Now the third time in 2012, its reappeared on my beard. I'm quite tired of this now and gonna wait and see how bad it gets before doing something...
I would love to connect with other guys who suffer from alopecia.

    Yes i did tried cortison, but not injections. I don't want any more treatments.

    the big thing in our community it matters when you want married , they judge by look , but am so strong now , i had it when i was 12 & its made me destroyed my study, but am over it for so many year & i love what our Great God gave me .
    when you grow up in libya you need to be so tough :)
