I've been recently diagnosed with androgenic alopecia at age 30. I always thought it was just stress- but apparently it's more. I just finished graduate school and have a master's degree in counseling psychology. I was offerened a job at my internship so I decided to stay in Seattle. I'm originally from the midwest and I'm kinda lonely out here in Seattle as my family is still in the midwest. I'm trying my best to keep my chin up and look at the positives in life. I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one out here struggling with hair loss. I look forward to meeting all of you!
Hi Jennifer, My friend request went on to you before I could add a little message. I have severe Androgenetic Alopecia, I have been battling it for years. I shaved what little I had left late last summer after a wig salon told me I didn't have enough to hold any kind of fall or topper. I lost almost all my hair on the left side of my head right before our son's wedding! This site is awesome, lots of friendly people who know what we are going through! Take care! Christy
Thanks! That's cool that you're from Iowa! I have lived in Iowa all my life. Grew up in the southeast central part of Iowa and now live in the Northwest. The winters get a little long, but spring is coming! :)
