About Me:
I have Alopecia areata ophiasis which is hard to treat but its also easier to hide. I found out I had it when I was 9. My doctors are now testing me for Lupus. I'm hoping it is just Alopecia. Right now in my life it is the worst its ever been. :( I still don't need to wear a wig but I have a feeling I will have to wear one soon. I like wearing wigs I'm just worried about what other people may think.
The good things in my life are my understanding husband and Family. I am a figure skating coach which I love! I also am a snowbroader which I do 2 to 3 days a week in the winter. I have my bachelors degree in graphic design and just starting taking acting classes.

    Hi Elaine! Glad to hear that you are doing better and have taken the plunge into wigs. How's that working for you? I am not quite there yet. Still able to hide.... Atleast I think so!

    Elaine, glad to hear you are happy and waiting for your new hair! I really liked what you said about being able to buy e hair you always wanted. I am afraid of losing more hair. I have scarring alopecia so I don't really go through growth and loss phases like other types of alopecia. I think that I do lose more at certain times though. I can still hide it but can't do all of my favorite old styles. I am the headband queen! I am so torn because I don't know if I will get to the point where I need a wig or if I will stay as I am. If I stay as I am, I think I can hide it forever. If it gets any worse...will be too hard. Would I go to hats? I look good in hats and scarves and love them. Work is the worst thing to imagine dealing with. My Scalp is all ridges and divots from the steroid shots too. Thanks for sharing...helps me deal with my issues.
