I have had Alopecia for about 16 years now. I still have nightmares of losing my hair and I wake up to find that I am bald. It has been difficult to have this issue and have been made fun of by people. Men can be so rude asking personal questions. I have had eight children and many foster children. I am an artist and have painted myself bald. I also have a Masters in Fine Art as well as as Masters in Clinical Mental Heath and working on my Phd in Psychology. I have not been able to afford nice wigs because I do not have any insurance and have been seeking work. I have a few wigs I have picked up on clearance. But I am not living in the desert and the heat gets to me. My husband has been sick with a brain tumor and has had three operations. This year 2012 he did radiation. He is my rock. My mantra is I am a beautiful woman and I know how to take care of myself.

Hello and welcome, Ann!
How are you today? I have AU, too.
I can help you if you want to know how to de-frizz your "dead wig."
