Out of no where in Aug/Sept 2007 my hair started falling out. I was very annoyed because no one could tell me why--just that I had alopecia. When my head got sparce I shaved my head. By Oct 07 I had no hair pn my body. By Dec07 I had no brows or eyelashes. Then I was told i had alopecia areata.
I have tried 3 or 4 wigs--HATE THEM. I wear hats and scarves -tolerate them.
When my daughter saw the segment on MSNBC today about Bald Girls do Lunch--I was THRILLED--Now I fould Alopecia World--Happy Birthday to me.

    Hi Marcy, Actually supposedly we make up 2% of the population. But seeing them all on the site, really brings it home. In our everyday lives we don't see them. I am glad you are here and look forward to your input.
