About Me:
I am a 42 year old female dealing with AU. I have had the disease/disorder for about a year and a half. I wore hats up until recently, when I decided to purchase a wig. I now go back and forth between the wig and hats, but feel more comfortable in hats. I live in a hot climate (Florida) and have difficulty with my scalp sweating. I hope to one day be able to go without either and be comfortable and confident.

    Thank you for the welcome Cheryl and LeslieAnn! I am so excited to finally have interaction with people dealing with the same issues as myself. Just yesterday I was struggling with whether or not to wear my wig because of the hot weather (I live in FL and sweat profusely when I wear the wig). I want to eventually get to the point that I can go out and about, and live my life without a wig, hat or scarf and be confident. It's a work in progress, and I'm looking forward to the support of others, and being able to support others, here on Alopecia World!

    Hi Tracey,  I was the same.  I was not there, but I knew where I wanted to be.  It took me years to finally shed the wigs and cope with alopecia the way that felt right for me.
