My name is Anna-Lisa. I was diagnosed with AU October 2011. I had my daughter in March so when I started losing my hair, I didn't think anything of it. It wasn't until I found bald spots and noticed my arm and leg hair was missing that I figured I should get it checked out. I knew what Alopecia was, so I knew what the diagnosis was going to be.
I was blessed to have a period of regrowth after my diagnosis. That lasted about six months before I found a spot on the back of my head. That spot turned into more and more.
I'm still in the process of it falling out but I have lost about 80-90% and I recently shaved my head. I actually feel really comfortable with my shaved head because I'm not trying to hide my spots anymore.
My hairloss story is pretty similiar to yours. I did have a patch in the front of my head grow back 2 months after it all fell out but within weeks it all came back out. Everyone's different so hopefully yours will stay grown back. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with any other questions to this crazy autoimmune disorder.

Hello and welcome, Aggie!
How are you doing today? I have AU, too.

Welcome to the International Alopecia Day Group! It'd be great to include a pic from Washington.
