I understand. While doing research for my book, I talked to a lot of parents of kids who had alopecia. It's true, the parents were taking it a lot harder than the kids! You always want to be able to fix things, and with this you can't. I have no hair at all on any part of my body -- I went through the patchy stuff to the total hairlessness within a few years. It's not bad when there are so many resources and so much support. I will be happy to help in any way I can.
