Hi My name is Victoria. I am a 25 yr old Social worker from Edmonton, AB. I first joined this site when I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in June 2008. My hair has always been my thing and I was always over the top with it. When my hair loss began I absolutely lost it thinking that I would never be attractive again and that my whole life was going to end. With a little acceptance, love for myself, living life and a few trips to my bitchy dermatologist my hair started to grow. It still falls out in other spots, but you can't have it all can you. I do not use wigs. Hair in my photos is my real hair that just covers my bald spots.
I am 25 years old and a social worker for the inner city community. I work in mental health and I love my job. i am also a student. I love yoga, music, the outdoors, sports, and anything fun.

Hi Victoria
I am new to the site and have had alopecia areata for 3 years. Most of my hair grew back, then thinned out on one side and now the old famliar burn of the patches started again 2 weeks ago and so it begins again.
I wanted to ask where you get your wigs, online or in store. I am from Ottawa,ON and have two short wigs for when the patches get too big to cover but would like a shoulder length one.
I too work in the health field, first as a psw for twenty years, now as a secretary in mental health in a hospital, and occasionly in records. I too love my job.
Hope to hear from you soon and that you are doing ok. I still feel like screaming sometimes especially when I started loosing my eyebrows. Funny story that is.
Wendy
