I cannot comment on the validity or otherwise of biopsies, but from what you describe the symptoms are very similar to my own, and I have Ben diagnosed with FFA. I’m male so regarding FFA I’m a bit of a rarity. I remember the burning sensations on my scalp and at the back of my head. I’ve lost my eyebrows, sideburns, and beard. My hairline has receded about 1-2”. It does appear to have slowed down and the hairloss has dramatically reduced. I’ve never had a biopsy but have been seen by a number of the UKs leading dermatologists. I had my sideburns shaved off at the barbers as they looked a mess, the pain as the barber shaved them was indescribable, they have never grown back, that was about 8 years ago. My temple hair has all gone too. Easy to say, but try not to get stressed as this tends to make matters worse, meditate, pray, do yoga, exercise, journal, see a therapist, whatever, but try not to get to stressed out. This site is really good and you’ll learn other people’s coping strategies which is very useful. Look at diet and supplements too. I so wish you well Nacey, it struck me at the age of 50, so I can understand how traumatic it must be for you at your tender years. Try not to let it get the better of you. Best wishes. Will
