I have had alopecia areata for almost one year now. About a year ago i noticed a very tiny spot on my scalp, but dismissed it as stress and went about my ways. A few months later, it grew, and then another appeared. Due to lack of health insurance, it took me quite a while to find a doctor who would agree to see me (and that i could afford!). It has been difficult, mainly because this is the first time i have lived away from my family and i wish they could be here. I hope to connect with others who have alopecia through this website because although i have a very supportive network, I would like to meet people who are experiencing the same thing i am.
