    Hello, Roxanne.

Were you able to find a place to get a hair piece for your son?

    Best,

    Toni

My twin has total au as well... I buy my wigs from Freedom Wigs in NZ.  Bob has always gone hairfree - he feels safe and confident...I think the part that is tough is the lack of eyebrows (tattooing) and eyelashes - (Not noted as strongly).  Love to meet your son.  I am also AU - so I get it.

    Roxanne,

    Good evening!

I am going to start a company that offers reasonable prices. I am in the process now. I am also in the Cosmetology program at Aveda Institute of Denver so I can style and be hands on.

In the meantime, NAAF has a “Marketplace” where you can get pieces for $500 or less. Lisa is a wonderful contact there. She introduced us to Dr. David Norris, Dermotologist of Denver, this evening. His information on Alopecia was INCREDIBLE and he seems so honest and caring. I would first make an appointment with him. He told me that if when you make an appointment you are told he does not have anything for six months out, to email him directly. I would be happy to do so on your behalf since he gave me his direct email personally. There are many treatments that he offers which I had never heard of and new advances on the horizon!!!

The local support groups run by Carol are so informative. Please bring your family! The next will be in a few months. Please let me know if I can assist with getting you on the mailing list. There are several males with Alopecia who could be a wonderful support for you and your son.

Keep your thoughts positive and I can’t wait to connect!

I was shy so I listed my name is Toni Phoenix. My real name is Trisha Thuesen. Please call me at 707-260-9738 or email me at tntheart@gmail.com any time. Alopecia is nothing to be ashamed of!

    Big hugs,

    Trisha
