Alopecia entered my world mildly 20 years ago with a patch here and there, always growing back. It then became more insistant over the past 9 months and I'm now dealing with hair pieces and self esteem issues. It is difficult to keep a good attitude, but as my sister says, if a part of your body is going to fall off, it is nice to have stores full of replacement options.
Hello and welcome, Debbie!
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" You can find out more on my page -- and it's available on this site under "Bookshelf." (By the way, it just won two national awards!) Let me know if there's anything else I can do!
