Hi PQ, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Yes, it is true that sometimes spots go away and never come back. While I was interviewing women and children for my book (see my page for more details), I ran into a lot of moms who felt worse than their daughters about the hair loss. It's a helpless feeling when you're a mom and you can't kiss it and make it well. Take comfort in the fact that science is very close to finding a viable treatment for this condition that really works. I would say it will come within the next five years or so.
