Diagnosed in 2012 with frontal fibrosing alopecia. In 2007 my Mom passed after 8 month illness and in 2011 my husband passed after a 3.5 year illness. Both had cancer and I was the primary caregiver for my husband secondary caregiver for Mom. I noticed thinning hairline in 12/2010 but did not pay much attention since I was busy with my husband. Two months after my husband's death, I noticed my first bald spot on the hairline. I went to the derm who did the injections and I developed more bald spots around the temple to the ears. I am frustrated with that and have decided to stop the treatment since I do not want to lose more. I know that nothing will stop the hair from falling and so I am concentrating on getting hairpieces for the bald areas. If anyone has been successful with this please let me know.
Hi Jen it sounds like we have a lot in common, I would live to talk to you if you want to send me an email at renatamazzaferro@rogers.com and I will give you my number
Jen did you develop ffa in your 20s? Just seems like the pattern of loss fits and I also am losing lashes, brows and I have noticed arm hair. U hairline has receded so much. I get such an itchy scalp and sore eyelids. It just fits :(
