Hi Nancy, Thank you for the compliment! I have lost even more hair. I really need to get around to updating my pics. We all have some kind of hair loss and all belong here. I go back to see my Derm mid August. AW is amazing. I honestly do not now how I would be doing right now if I hadn't stumbled on this site last year! It has been so much help and people here are supportive in a way that non alopecians just can't understand. I love reading what others like us are experiencing and what helps them get through the bumps along the way! If you can connect with a Alopecia Support group I highly recommend it. I just wish he group in my state met more often and wasn't a 2 hour drive one way....

    Thanks for the note!
Yes, after all these years I am here to give support -- I tried to do that for as many women as possible by writing my book,"If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!"
That's great that you like your hair short. Unfortunately I have always been partial to long hair, so that's what I wear and feel funny without it. I tried short, but no go!

It is a lot easier being older -- more mellow, more calm, wiser, all that good stuff! I could do without the arthritis in my hands, though!

Nancy ..when I first started out with my hair loss it was AA as the years went along it would grow back and fall out again and each time was getting worse...I have 3 grand-sons and when I'm at home like most they always come to visit and see me all the time and now I am totally bald, no eyebrows,no eyelash,no hair no were..this is AU ....and they seemed to be fine with it...but I will never be....I work with the public and wear a wig everyday..or I would never go out of the house without one on....I have no idea if my neighbors know it or not...I no it will not grow back it's been this way since 2006 , after my daughter and I did a kidney transplant..which I was happy I was a match...but everyone is fine with me being bald except for me. I know their are alot of us out there and I think we all feel the same at one time or another...I just can't get passed the front door without my wig off...so we aren't alone...we can only pray that someday they will fine out WHY this happens.I'm 62 years old and have my pride...I don't know if that is good or bad...anyway now that I vented..your grand-daughter seems like see is OK with the idea and the more she see you without hair and the older she gets .hopefully she will understand your condition

Hey Nancy, thanks for the add.
Yeah me too - funny how so many issues you just don't think about until it starts happening to you/in your life. It's really given me food for thought!

Thanks, Nancy. My son and I were having fun with the camera one rainy afternoon and then I was messing around with my photo editor software and came up with it. We liked it too and my son said he thought I should use it for a while as my profile pic. Anyway, how was your trip to DE? We still have to plan to get together sometime in the near future. :-)

Thanks so much Nancy. Yeah, I hate it when those close to me tell me I'm delusional and that I am misinterpreting the stares I get. Oh I can't tell you how many times I used to hear this one, before I got the wig, "maybe they're admiring your head band"...Ummm yeah right! lol...
