- I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata on 10/4/10. I first noticed my bald circles back in August. I am 49 years old, married, with three grown sons, a daughter in law,and one grandson. My interests/hobbies are: scrapbooking & photography, reading, quilting, parasailing, going to the beach, American Sign Language, listening to music that makes me feel good. I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Bella and Copper. They always seem to make my day! I have been distant from AW for a while now. My mom was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer a year ago, and passed away April 18, 2014. As for my hair, it's thin, but it's in. It just wont grow, so I stopped getting hair cuts almost completely. Trying to adjust to a 'new normal' without my mom.
