I'm Renee I currently live in Malaysia but I'm orignially from the USA. My daughter, just turned 6, was just dx with Alopecia Areata and I'm researching like crazy on it so I can better understand it.
Yes, that is a normal reaction. As I was writing my book, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" I interviewed several women, mothers of children with alopecia, who felt the same way. It's so hard! I feel for you. Perhaps a consolation that many kids reported -- as they grew up with this condition they became better people: more sympathetic and kind, more tolerant and accepting of others' differences.
