I'VE HAVE ALOPECIA UNIVERSALIS AND HAD SINCE I WAS 2 OR 3 YRS OLD. IM NOW 25 YRS OLD AND I HAVE 2 CHILDREN. I HAVE ALOT OF SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES THAT I HAVE NOT OVERCOME AND DON'T KNOW IF I EVER WILL. I HAVE A HARD TIME EXCEPTING THIS THOUGH I SHOULD BE USE TO THIS BY NOW. I FEEL MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS DON'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST IDEA OF WHAT IM GOING THROUGH. I FEEL DIFFERENT THAN EVERYONE ELSE. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME? WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS?
Hi Angela,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.

Thanks for the kind words. While most people dont understand what we face you have to take everyday fighting. No, most people dont know that I have alopecia unless I tell them. Which honey I sure do. I change hair styles quite often about every 3 to 4 months. I do the hair myself and have learned to create hairlines so it is bonded for at least a month or so. U did nothing to deserve it and dont accept it as punishment. We all face struggles and we have to stand up and take them swinging. Honey alopecia is the least of my worries. If u need someone to talk to please feel free to contact me.
