About Me:
I am a 25 year old woman working and living in Manhattan who has aways had very fine hair, but I normally have a full head of it. Over the past 6 months, I have experienced gradual hair loss, which has become quite severe over the past 2 months. I have gone to doctors, had thyroid and hormone levels checked, and none of my doctors know what's wrong. I am very scared and panicked and in need of support/advice.

    You are right to see another dermatologist. Make sure it's someone who specializes in hair loss, because a lot of derms aren't familiar with alopecia in all its forms. I don't know how close you are, but we have a great one in Portland, Dr. Janet Roberts.
