Im a 22 year old stay at home mommy. I have 2 little boys Trestin that is just shy of 3 with alopecia and my 10 months old Tucker. My boys and My husband are my everything!
HI Kami, Samantha is doing a treatment called squaric acid which maybe too harsh for a 3 yr old. The treatment works as follows: First you sensitize the arm with .02% of acetone to see if your body will produce a response in the form of a rash. Once that is established a dosage of acetone is applied to a different area of the head weekly. The idea is to produce a rash in the area of treatment each time. If you don't get a rash the meds is not working. We are basically working to confuse the immune system so it will let her hair grow. Samantha has had some road blocks with he bodies response, but she has stuck through it and we have been able to take it work for her. You also get an itchy scalp. We started the process in Dec, by March we started weekly treatments and by mid June hair started growing. We have had to halt in between for various reasons. Now she has a layer of hair on about 60% of he head and brows are making an appearance. In addition, I give her a biotin supplement, vitamin, aloe juice and cod liver oil. When I saw your post on the biotin diet and looked up foods and we are going to incorporate them into her diet. Now, this kid will have salad daily..Amazing what she will do for hair!!
Hi there Kami your little boys are so cute! The eyebrows are the hardest bit I reackon......with Nicole she used eyebrow tattoos and the silicone ones but now she prefers the tattoos and even tho her eyebrows are growing in she still wears them...........headcovers is where we get them from.....good luck with it all
