I am the big sister of a little alopecian! I am a 27 year old lawyer and student.
Over my life I have experienced some hair loss in patches and hair thinning, but have not been diagnosed with alopecia, and have not experienced any hair loss for three years.
I would like to learn about ways to help and support people with AA (as my sister has) learn to live with hair loss, especially the unpredictability of the condition. I like to think of ways to relieve some of the stressors in my sister's life and help her to be happy.
I completely believe life is there to be lived bravely, completely and with hope no matter what - with hair or without it!
the Open Day is on October 11th and they usually have it in Carlton but they have not yet confirm the venue for this year so I will let you know when I find out.
It is great and you get to meet all people for all age groups that have alopecia and their families. The talk about research, wigs, hair scarfs, makeup and basically everything that has to do with alopecia.
I went there last year and it helped me cope a lot better and basically get on with life.
How old is your sister and how is doing with the condition?

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of help!
