I have been dealing with alopecia areata since I was 17. I'm now 22 and have alopecia totalis. It was really hard losing my hair initially, but I've come to see all the positive. I've become a stronger person since I lost my hair and it's helped me always look on the brighter side of life.

  Hello Jessica... I'm from Ottawa. I actually joined this site for my 3 year old daughter though. She developed AA about 3 months ago... I;ve been searching for others who live in Ottawa but can't seem to find any children. I would love to meet up with anyone who has AA just to learn more about the disorder itself and their experiences with it. Hope we can chat sometime...
