About Me:
I am a Proud First Nation Aboriginal Canadian of British Columbia.

At the age of thirty-three, I have a lot to be thankful for.

I have been blest with having two wonderful Parents who have taught me right from wrong. In their own tender way they have guided me through the toughest times in my life, they have never judged or criticized my decisions throughout the years.

With all their love and support, I made it!
I am who I am today because of them.

God blest me 15 years ago with my first son Warren. He was nearly taken from us not long after he turned one. My mother calls him our miracle baby.

I was blest again with my second son James 1997. He has such a wonderful imagination.

In 2007 I had my 3rd son Cyrus Dre Chance... we got the name Chance of off Little People Big World. Cyrus was nearly taken from us upon delivery.
God too has given my baby a chance in this world.

It will be 4 years this coming July since I had married the love of my life... (but) we've been together 16 years. My loving husband has stayed by my side through thick an thin. Through hells gates and back; our love for one another that is so strong like no other, has brought us to where we are today. Yeah, we have our share of problems, ups an downs, alot of learning experiences have come an gone. Some bad experiences I hope not to pass unto my children. (Our Children)

I have two beautiful younger sisters; before all this Alopecia stuff...
People would think I was the youngest. I love my sisters to death. Without them, I wouldn't be able to deal with all this frustration, confusion, fear and sadness. Being by their side... I can laugh about all this. They make me feel normal... comfortable and free to express who I really am. I miss them so much, everyday that passes... my heart would ache but only for a second, I would think of them and start praying for them and their families. I love you my dear sisters...
love u tons an tons...

I also have an older brother, who I wish I was close to like my sisters.
Right now; I thank God he has his children with him. Thats all that matters to me right now, for he loves them more than anyone will know.
Thank you Lord for you blessings on me.

I recently found out in October I have Alopecia Areata! Still not sure what it is, I have seen one doctor. Trying to educate myself, look for support groups. Finding it helpful watching other people's stories... I live a Community with a population of less than 500 ppl. To my knowledge, I am the only one here with this condition... Dear Lord, help me find an answer... or the support I need to get through this! I feel so lost.

    Hi Ursula,

I also live in rural BC - though not as rural as you I think! - in Nelson. Just wanted to let you know that I have a friend in Prince Rupert who is a teacher in a school there... she has told me that she works with another woman who has alopecia universalis, just in case you want to perhaps speak to someone in person who has been through it all. I believe this woman wears wigs and so may be able to give you some info if you are interested in going that route. I think you are fairly close to Prince Rupert? In any case I wish you all the best. I am near the same age as you and lost my hair last year. It does get easier.

    Hello Ursula
Thank you for beeing my friend. I come from a little country in the middle of Europe named Slovakia, former Czechoslovakia. I am at the same age as you are, married for 12 years. I have got 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. The yongest girl 15 months old has got congenital alopecia aerata due to hemolyza after rh-inkompatibility during pregnancy. Simply she was born with it. Alopecia aerata at all is very rare in our country maybe becouse we have got only 5 000 000 inhabitants and our dermatologists are not very experienced with it. My child began regrowth in december after her first haircut, fortunately. I like your children , they are so cute! Especially your youngest one. How old is he now? In our country women used to stay with children at home until they are 3 years old, to have a babysiter is very expensive. Do you work? What do you do? I am florist and gardener.
Looking forward for hearing from you soon. Dana .
