Hello, I am a 45 y/o 1 year breast cancer survivor, wife and mother of two. I found a lump in my breast when I did my first ever self exam. After that it was a whirlwind of surgery, chemo and radiation. My hair fell out rapidly from chemo. It was christmas morning 2006, I finally told my husband I couldn't watch it fall out, please shave my head. It was a strugle inside to adjust, but I soon learned to love being bald. I wasn't much for wearing wigs, so I searched for headwraps and found very little, so I started a new company for female hair loss patients. I just wanted to share our website with all of you who are affected by alopecia. It is www.iwearitwell.com. As you all know it is a mental struggle to try to obtain some harmony in your life when you are faced with hair loss. We have put together some fun, bright and cheerful options to ease your days ahead while eliminating the daily concern of what to wear. I wish all of you many healthy and happy days ahead. My heart is with you as you travel through this journey. Keep your head held high and keep your spirits soaring. You are a beautiful person inside and out. Whether you have cancer or alopecia, I continue to hope for a cure for both.
Hi Kelly, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
