Profile Information:

Relationship Status:

About Me:
I'm in my late-50's & have had AA since 18 months of age; universalis for 30 years. Although I've had AA since a baby, I didn't know I could lose all my hair until it happened within 30 days! Over the years I've tried all types of treatment, lotions & potions, medications etc. - it didn't grow back. I have worn every type of wig made & have been happiest with the Freedom Hair wig from New Zealand.
My eldest sister was just diagnosed w/AA & my niece has androgenetic hair loss. That hair loss gene just won't leave my family alone!
I live in the San Francisco area now (orignally from Pittsburgh, PA) & continue a close relationship with NAAF - they were there for me 28 yrs. ago!
I've learned to accept AA for what it is - a disease over which I have no control - and am happy to help others learn that there is life with AA.
Do you have alopecia?
Alopecia universalis
Are you age 18 or older?
Yes - I am 18 or older

Nice profile comments if only the web had been around when Pat first head alopecia it would have been easier to deal with, knowing we were not alone with this horrible disease.

You ordered wigs from Iwig? They have pretty reasonable prices. I have blonde hair, it is so hard to find blonde shades that I feel are similar to my hair. Are they hot in summer weather? I am in FL. So humidity is here half the year. Intense Humidity. I would ruin an expensive wig sweating. And the sun would fade and fry it. How are the Iwigs to care for?
