About Me:: I've had alopecia areata for about 12 years now and I've been wearing a wig for 6 years. My mother started a support group in my area (Rochester, NY) so that I would have the opportunity to finally meet other people with this condition. She is the most amazing woman. I have a wonderful fiance of almost 5 years who loves me exactly the way I am. I am so appreciative of the people who take the time to start websites and on-line groups because it raises much needed awareness and provides support for all "alopecians" no matter what stage of this condition we're in.
