Where I am today is where many of you will be tomorrow

Occasionally I receive an email from someone saying that they wished they had my strength to handle alopecia -- as if I woke up one day without my hair and was immediately ok with it. As most members here would attest, that is hardly ever the case. Where I am today is probably where many of you will be tomorrow.

Random thought on my journey with alopecia

Most of you know that I am from Canada and rj is American. So when we married we started a whirlwind of immigration processes. I had to file yet another form and get another set of biometric done. One of the steps was another photo session at the immigration office.

I filled out the form and clicked “bald” as my hair color. For a second I wondered if I should have clicked black, since it was an official government form and being AA my black hair does show if I don't shave daily. I…

Freedom of choice

We all have a freedom of choice who we "accept" as friends on here, to whose opinions we respond, how we change our profile words, headings or photos, and what we wear on our heads. For me, I tend to stay away from trouble once I see that my words will have no impact for change or peace, or when I sense someone who has never even had a discussion with me suddenly wants to snoop at my personal conversation history or photos, and is very persistent about it only after seeing a certain photo in… Continue

Why not just have "selective" (chosen) exposure?

I just bare it in certain places, not in others. Why does it have to be all or nothing? It's your head. You get to choose where and when and with whom and for how long you will feel comfortable!

Hair Again

I am now experiencing a really weird feeling. I now have hair again.



I cannot believe that it has all come back. I have not shaved my head for a month now and I have more hair than I would have thought possible in such a short period of time.
