Will my bald spots still show if i shave my head completely and go over it with a razor?

I'm Irish and pretty pale and I'm about to shave my head but i am curious to know if my spots will still show anyway. If so then what's the point? Aren't most of us trying to conceal it?
Need answers please.

Using my head

Last week I was grocery shopping and, when I went to check out, a woman approached me to say she thought I was beautiful and that she wished she could do what I do. She went on to explain that she lost most of her hair due to alopecia. I told her I was familiar with alopecia and, in fact, have it myself. She was fearful of what others might say if they knew about her condition, but she really liked my look.

She was wearing a wig and said she normally wears one, so I suggested she…

Another UPDATE on Devin; 2 months later

His little head is covered with hair with the exception of the orginal bald spot he had. That area is still covered with the fine white baby hair. Other than that, he's been doing great.

Keep your head and always have hope=)

Crazy times!

Lately I have been so overwhelmed with finals and work that I haven't really taken some time for myself.

Its like, we work so hard to find some things in life that we forget about the little things. I have definitely taken for granted some things lately but, with hard work comes success. Other times, when you work so hard for some things, others just happen to come along, and are given to you. This is an excellent example:…

Head designs for a bald guy

I was reading the Jewish Chronicle the other day and there was an article about a man named: Philip Levine. Since going bald he decided to use his head as a canvas for art. I really like this idea! He has a couple of websites, so check them out:

Done...bald...transitioned...spot-less...liberated!

I will forever remember Saturday, March 5, 2011, the day I buzzed off what appeared to look like a light, scattered bird's nest on my head. It was amazing. I returned to my hometown, NYC, to my hairdresser of 19 years, Skipper Edwards. I initially went to Skipper because he was my sister's hairdresser; he was good with hair of women of color. Being bi-racial my hair was kinky, although it could be blown out. He proceeded, throughout the years to cut, style my hair in an appropriate way to hide… Continue

Falling back out

So my head has started itching more since I've been letting my hair grow in and I just went to scratch the back of my head and found that 2 of the spots where I had re-growth, are completely bald again :( I've been Ok with being bald, I haven't cried once. But I think now its just getting REALLY ridiculous. It teases me with beautiful re-growth, only to make it to like an inch and then start falling out again. I told myself not to get excited about it, I should learn to listen to myself a… Continue

Voluntary hairloss

Nothing warms my heart more than someone wanting to shave their head to support people with medical hairloss. I was thinking of a simple enough event I could hold in honour of alopecia awareness month. Needless to say my time is running short for planning an event but if not in September, it will be done at least in time for me to fundraise for my missionary venture to Guatemala in February. My issue comes not from planning an event but from an extraordinary request from my 9 year old daughter.… Continue

A good way to have fun with a bald head

Hi again

Sorry again if there are any misspellings or grammer mess ups. Anyway I am going to talk about a few ways of having fun with your bald head. One way I had fun with my bald head in school and outside of school was when holidays came around I would yet the other kids paint hearts, clovers, eggs, christmas trees, menorahes, and many other things. lol It was great and the other kids and everyone else thought it was awesome!! I would also let the younger kids put stickers on my head.… Continue

How has being bald affected you???????????????

How has being bald affected you? That is if it has affected you. Mind you I do think it must have even if it is only the fact that you notice how cold it is much more now than when you had hair.

Many of the websites for Alopecia document how many people are stressed about having Alopecia and that they desperately worry about their hair growing back. I must admit that when I first had alopecia I was concerned about the situation but once I shaved my head I stopped worrying and found… Continue

Free at Last!

I shaved my head because I was tired of looking at one hair falling out at a tim. I was tired of assessing how big the pateches were or were not getting. I was tired of worrying about if my bald spots were showing. Look out, World! I have a bald spot showing! It's called my scalp. LOL. It took longer than I thought (a friend and my husband both helped) and my hair held on like a pit bull. But we won at last. I feel so much better. I have a wig I… Continue

Upset by Family's Reactions

I have been toying with the idea of shaving my head and getting this hair loss crap out of my life for quite some time now. I've always confided in my family, so naturally I told them that I am considering shaving my head. I wasn't expecting them to jump for joy, but I really wasn't expecting the reactions I got from them either.

My mom cried. At first she was crying because I lost a large clump of hair in the shower. Then I told her that I want to shave my head and she cried even… Continue
