CBD and hair growth

Has anyone had any luck with using CBD to help with hair regrowth. My peach fuzz is starting to grow back thicker and it just might turn into actual hair. The only thing I have changed is consuming small dose of CBD daily.

Hair is growing in...Olumiant

I have been lucky enough to get on Olumiant. I’n five weeks I have a mustache and patches of hair growing. Im 68 and been dealing with my hair growing in a falling out. This drug has some serious side effects that you need to monitor.

My sense is that alopecia is IS a “systemic disease” process. I have had a bowel resection, mitro valve repair,  of course episodic stomach issues and eye issues, recently retina repair… I.E. everything related to human anatomy and hairlike structures…

TikToker showing off her hair growth after starting a new miracle alopecia drug - Before and After

The TikToker compiled a video showing weekly hair growth progress.  I am not going to lie, it is impressive.  But for many seeing is believing.  Are you currently using it and getting similar results? No results?  or just your views on why you wouldn't try it.

"People with alopecia are going viral on TikTok after sharing their…

Just diagnosed with frontal fibrosing alopecia

Hi, so glad to have found this forum, just before Christmas I went to have hair cut and my hairdresser was in shock at the loss of hair on my scalp since the last cut.  Needless to say he was pretty blunt and filled me in with horror stories.  I promptly went home and search Ed for a dermatologist in Melbourne who specialises in hair loss and managed to score an appointment on a cancellation.  Fast forward I had my appointment and apart from my diagnosis have been prescribed : aldactone,…

2016 My New Story

I have Alopecia Areata but at this time it is in remission but now because of other autoimmune diseases and Parkinson's and stress from a death of a very close friend my hair is falling out all over my head from the root. I can see the root ball and also pustules on scalp and what looks like grains of sand here and there. My hair is so thin now it is just wisps of long hair very thin also like those who have had chemo. I have tried antibiotics, antifungals, given to me by Derm but nothing is…

Xeljanz for alopecia

Some doctors are now prescribing Xeljanz (Tofacitinib) for Alopecia, with great results. Problem is it's cost. It can run upwards of $2k per month or $24k per year, and most insurance plans won't cover it because its not yet a recognized treatment for Alopecia. But the more people who try it and get results, the more likely the medical community will recognize it as a legitimate treatment and insurance companies may start covering the cost. I urge everyone to discuss with their…

Trick #2

So I return to my dermatologist this week to see what he has next in his bag of tricks for me. We have just tried a round of steroid injections once a week for three weeks to try to "trick" my immune system and shut it down with zero improvement. He mentioned that next time we will try to take the opposite approach and "rev it up"??? Anyone tried this and what does it entail. I haven't been able to find any information on the internet. I was only diagnosed five months ago so I am still…

Recovering from DEEP DEPRESSION. My hair loss chronicles

I have looked under the bed, I have checked my pockets, I have searched high and low and my hair was nowhere to be found. You see, since I was 21 I have been losing my hair and have done everything short of sending out an Amber Alert for it! My name is Scott and this is my story how I fell into Depression when my hair fell out and how I recovered from it.

A lot of shenanigans

I have only been diagnosed for oh 3 months now with AGA/TE, but one thing that I am finding a bit annoying is the sheer amount of hair loss shenanigans on the internet.

Try doing a search on YouTube for alopecia. I am looking for genuine people telling their stories. I personally find them helpful and inspiring. However what I mostly find are a lot of videos promoting a product or some dermatologist telling the usual treatment options for alopecia.

My favorite…

My Alopecia Story

Last year I was diagnosed with a mixed Scarring Alopecia. Alopecia is just a fancy word for hair loss. This is an extremely rare condition. There are many different types of Alopecia (including male pattern baldness) and they are further categorized into scarring and non-scarring.

Without medication my symptoms are a bright red inflamed scalp, dry flaky lesions, prickly pear itching,, patchy areas of pustules that burst and drain. and areas of tenderness all over my scalp. It is… Continue

Reliability!

Just as you start to get used to your current form of alopecia it changes.

I have had nearly twelve months now with AU. Not a hair anywhere other than the fact that I still have to shave my chin now and then. Even then the hair on my chin is now much finer than it used to be. I’ve had no eyebrows, no eyelashes not anything.

The last couple of weeks though I’ve noticed that I’ve got a few eyelashes come back and the front section of my head has started to have hairs grow… Continue
