Hello Ann, I confess that not only is this to welcome you to Alopecia World but your little Shih Tzu as well. My family had adopted Shih Tzu rescue dogs for years but one of the two last adopted had alopecia universalis. Of course, no one wanted the bald little guy (Ollie) in an Oklahoma shelter so the 7-state rescue nonprofit group, NNBSTR, transferred him to an Arkansas foster home and from there, he was finally "shuttled" up to Wisconsin for me to officially adopt him. He was pink and gray but now has a full coat: white and gray.
Sorry about the hair loss...always traumatic, especially over the holidays, but you found a nice place to be....here with us! Susan
We're neighbors, sort of. I live in Grand Rapids. Your dog is darling. I have a standard poodle and a Bicheon. They don't shed and don't trigger my allergies.
I am an active member of Alopecia World. Is there anything I can do to help you?
