Wow, it's a good thing you are not doing that treatment any more. It will be good to find out if it's the treatment or alopecia areata. I hope it's the Keratin treatment, because they you will have no more problems!

Yes, you definitely should go to a dermatologist who specializes in alopecia areata. In my book, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" I related some amazing stories about dermatologists who weren't familar with alopecia, and recommended a number of outlandish remedies -- for example, one woman was told to "eat jello."
And yes, alopecia can suddenly appear at any time. Mine appeared at age 26. Another woman I talked to was diagnosed with it at age 80. Alopecia can be triggered by such things as hormone changes, illness, and of course stress. But some people who have alopecia can't pinpoint anything that might have triggered it.
Belinda, Keartin Coppola treatments could be dangerous and toxic, what with fumes and chemicals. I am not sure if they would cause pea or dime-sized round spots though -- that sounds more like alopecia areata. If these treatments damaged your scalp, your hair would come out diffusely instead of in small round spots. You might want to go to a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss. He/she can diagnose the situation with a biopsy and you can go from there. In the meantime, of course you should stop having the Keartin Coppola treatments.
