- I have had scarring alopecia (Lichen Planopilaris) for several years. I would like to converse with people that are becoming accustom to wearing wigs. I have not made that transition yet. I appreciate a support group. Hairloss is a devastating event.

Just want to thank everyone for their support on this wonderful site.
I don't know anyone personally and haven't written much as yet. But have read a lot from the site. I appreciate everyone sharing their stories.
It helps so much,-- just to know someone else understands what you are going through. God bless you all!

Hi Georgia, I'm Jean and I live in Clare. I have never met too many Alopecians too talk to. Ha Ha sounds like we are aliens, we might have felt that way a time or to. When I used to wear a scarf or a hat, people always stare, the woman at the bank one day said, how many years have you been sick ? I went home crying. I'm stronger now but it still hurts. I like hair
Alopecians in Michigan will celebrate International Alopecia Day (August 6th, 2011) with a late lunch at T.G.I Fridays in Livonia. We will be meeting at 3 PM.
