So, I was reading the book, "Wheat Belly," and it said that there may be a connection with Alopecia, along with other autoimmune disorders that are connected to eating wheat. I have gone off of wheat, just to see if there is any truth to it. I will keep you posted!

Yes, I first had patches, then it morphed into AU. I never had AT only, it all came on together...
Hello and welcome, jean!
How are you today? I have AU, too.

Hi Jean,
Most of my hair fell out during my late 40s; it also came back as soft fine white hair which, like you, I continued to dye. The hair loss consumes us. I started an artistic hobby to keep myself from running fingers through it all day...all tests to see if the situation was improving. If the loss worsens over the holidays, you might try an inexpensive wig (which I wore to an Easter Shrove pancake supper; it matched my own hair closely so I don't think people even noticed.) There's probably a salon in your area that could help; my husband accompanied me which helped considerably. I wish you well...((Hugs)) Susan
