Hi Liza, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
I thank you all very much for the warm welcome.
I have worked with alopecia patients for many years> with permanent cosmetics.
It takes a very different approach than that of, say, a regular eyeliner on someone with lashes. It's a common mistake for cosmetic tattooists to apply an eyeliner just as they would on an eye with lashes, and the result is much too stark. Lashes diffuse implanted color and for the lashless lid- a much softer look is necessary to balance the lack of lashes.
Much the same with brows, the lack of hair to diffuse the tattooed color tends to produce a "stamped on" effect. The technician should provide a variegated color which is softer at the border of the brow.
Again, I thank you all for the warm welcome, you seem to have a terrific group here.
If any of you have questions concerning cosmetic tattoo enhancements, (both men and women) please feel free to ask me.
I hope you all have a terrific weekend.
I'm in Anchorage Alaska, it's a little cool-ish so far this weekend.
