- On October the 8th 2015 I had a full head of hair and by March 2016 it was gone. I have taken some time off work to try to come to terms with what is happening to me and have good days and bad. I am a young 54. Mum to one son and nana to my beautiful little Millie Lucy. I have to wear wigs which I hate as I cannot get to grips with the person looking back at me from the mirror.

Update on my alopecia

Hi everyone, I haven't written a blog for a while. I have now had my 5th dosage of DCP treatment to hopefully encourage an allergic reaction tricking my immune system and hopefully allowing my hair to return. I just wanted to know if anyone has had this treatment and if so was it successful ?
Alopecia and HRT implants

Hi everyone I have alopecia and have no hair at all anywhere on my body including eyelashes. As of yet the specialist has not been able to tell me what triggered it off however I have a younger sister who has recently had a hysterectomy and is now on HRT. Hi again Lucy it was nice to hear from you, my own story is a little different from yours my hair (female pattern baldness) or general thinning as it is also known took a number of years to thin out to the degree that I needed help and to cut a very long story short yes I wear wigs now, during this past year I have stuck to one in particular that looks and feels like the natural hair I had, so I feel like me when I wear it which is most of the time, I don't go to bed in the wig though, but at all other times, I don't even let my husband see me without the wig (that's another story) and although I have been going through this for quite a long time this is the first time ever that I have spoken to anyone about it or my feelings, sad huh?... you seem like a really nice woman and I'm happy to make your acquaintance, I think we will become friends, if you would like to email me let me know and I will forward my email address for you :)
