- I was diagnosed with alopecia areata back in 2012, it was just a small patch on my chin, till 2013 August I used to have a patch or 2 at any point of time n was under cortisone injections,I had to find a way out from these injection as I feared taking them life long. From August 2013 I started with homeopathy treatment with no drastic effect I was still getting new patches every 2 months and the old patch remained the same. From past 5 months I under ayurvedic treatment by Dr rohit, out of the 8 patches I have seen 100% hair growth in 2 patches, n I hope to regrow hair in another year,one more important thing is I have started a gluten( I try to avoid as much as I can but not 100%) , diary n anti inflammation diet from last 2 months and have not got a new patch. I hope to continue the same. Any. suggestions would be welcomed

Alopecia due to hormonal imbalance

Hi there, I am cured of Alopecia Areata now. It was due to a hormonal imbalance. From 2009 to 2012 i was on finesteride 1mg daily, for controlling male pattern baldness, and I stopped it immediately in 2012 feb since i heard it causes sexual side effects , but i had not experienced any side effects.Now. My hairline is receding and my doc put me on finesteride every alternative day and my patches have stopped occurring from the past 4 months
