Hi everyone! I just made my room reservation and will be sending in my conference registration tomorrow. Unfortunately, due to a conflicting event, I'm only going to be able to be there on Thursday and Friday, and I'll have to leave by around 3:00 pm on Friday. I hope that those of you who are attending are arriving on Thursday.

I'll be arriving early on Thursday since I'm driving up from San Diego, so if you're also going to be there before the official 1:00 registration start, please let me know and we can meet for lunch!

I want everyone to know that it was a very difficult decision for me to not attend the whole conference, and I hope you understand. In the end, what made up my mind was actually my AA.

I'll be attending an annual Balkan music and dance camp that starts on Saturday, June 25 and requires two days' driving time to reach. After going to the camp in 2006 and 2007, I skipped for 2 years due to losing my hair in early 2008. I just wasn't ready to be there bald, and camping and dancing hard wouldn't work for me with something on my head all the time.

2010 was a big step for me to be there among several hundred people bald (there are photos on my page), and I want to go back two years in a row to build on that progress. Hopefully, all the people who wondered if I had cancer last year and didn't ask, will now be forced to assume otherwise!

I'm looking forward so much to meeting all of you who'll be attending, and I hope we'll have time together while I'm there.
