Hello -

My daughters pediatrician believes she may possible have alopecia.

She has a few patches (some larger) of hair loss. Although in all the spots, there is regrowth. She has been using Elcon cream nightly as well.

My question is - she is also showing signs of an allergy. We are going to see an allergist in a few weeks. Could an allergy be causing the hair loss as well?

Any information would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks!

These things seem to run in packs. I am allergic to peanuts, shrimp, and animal fur. In my youth, I had eczema and impetigo. Many people on this site have several auto-immune conditions at the same time. Who knows what triggers alopecia genes to react in each person? See www.naaf.org.
