17 years old and recently diagnosed with alopecia areata (need some advice)

I'm new here on the forum and I would like to introduce myself, I'm from Portugal, I'm 17 years old and I was recently diagnosed with AA. This was very sad for me because I loved my hair so much, and the girls did too! Recently it got so bad that I shaved my entire head bald. I have a question on the shaving part, I noticed that since I'm not entirely bald after I shave with a razor people can still notice grey areas on certain parts of my head, which makes me uncomfortable to not wear a hat, is there any way of making it not appear? So I could have a bald head and nobody ask me what the grey spots are. Thank you for reading.

Thank you for the great response (: I will try to not care for the opinions of others, but it will be very hard for someone like me who went from a hairstyle that looked like this:

To bald :c, they even called me dragon ball at school, the girls loved it, and now I got nothing

Dude I know exactly how you feel. I'm 17 and I have AU. It was tough to deal with at first especially with how girls who once loved my hair reacted. Just rock the bald proudly. I also had the grey spot problem when I first started shaving my head bald too, the grey spots go away eventually and your head will even out. Hopefully in time you'll find that one of the benefits of having AU is that when a girl likes you it'll actually mean something because of the fact that she'll look past the AU. The best you can do is try your hardest to keep the same confidence you've had since before the AA don't let it change you in the slightest.

It's hard to not let it change me man, my life was almost based off my hair to be honest, I hope it comes back tho :c

You never know but if your hair does come back it will be when you least expect it. Remember, a watched pot never boils so maybe if you can find something else to focus on, it will surprise you one day. I am a hairstylist by trade so I know how hard it is when image means so much. Sorry you are having to go through this journey with us, but you can do it, Dragon Ball! LOL So Dragon Ball has a new image. So what? You are still you... but your life has to be based on something else now ;D

I am not a doctor. But the grey spots are good. Your hair is growing back! Mine did to for a while. And a few years later it left very fast. Good luck and keep your chin up.
