When the doctor first diagnosed me with AA she recommended I use hydrocortisone cream to help the regrowth, fair enough i thought i'll give it a go.
That was until I spoke to my grandad who had suffered from AA twenty years earlier, he'd lost 90% of his hair, he saw a specialist who recommended that he try UV treatment & said to use deep heat cream to stimulate the blood to the surface of the scalp.
I tried the UV lamp but couldnt feel any real benefits from it, then I decided to try the deep heat cream & was shocked at just how quick I saw results.
My partner massages the cream into my head everyday, with in 3 months Ive gone from having long dark hair to having no hair at all and now I have a head full of blonde fluff!!

Has anybody else tried deep heat???

Hi Gem

It's good that your hair is growing back. My hair regrowth has followed a similar pattern but it started on its own. The effect of the deep heat could just be a coincidence and it may just have grown back naturally. Alopecia isn't caused by lack of bloodflow to the scalp - rather by the immune system attacking the hair. Whatever the cause glad it has grown back. The white hairs soon changed dark for me and now I have nearly a whole head of dark hair.
