These are the common causes for hair loss according to my studies. Do you all agree on these? Is there any more?

1. Heredity or in medical term called Androgenetic Alopecia.

2. Hormonal changes for women after giving birth to a baby.

3. Stress or Depression

4. Lack of Iron and Protein in the body.

5. Chronic illness or major surgery may cause temporary hair loss.

6. Medical treatment such as Cancer treatment.

7. Thyroid Gland Malfunctioning.

8. Skin infections of the scalp such as ringworm infection.

9. Excessive colouring or dying to the hair.

10. Excessive or rapid weight loss.

11. Alopecia Areata

hair loss is quite common at this time of the year in India- when the monsoons have begun..basically the hair has a life cycle which has three stages- anagen, catagen, telogen.. that is growth, transitional, death. For many people, the monsoons and the telogen stage coincide...if your hair has just started falling, then you needn't worry...it will stop once the dead hair have been shed. However, if hair loss is a contant problem for you then it could signal an unhealthy scalp or an underlying medical problem.  for more : hair loss treatment
