I've had alopecia for a little over a year now and tried several different treatments with no improvement, in fact, things got worse and I ended up losing all my hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes. The last treatment I was doing was a laser light therapy, but that didn't seem to have any effect, so my derm stopped it and suggested I give my scalp a rest and stop all treatments for a while. Has anyone tried or heard of someone trying acupuncture for alopecia? I've read some things online about people doing it for alopecia and there being some positive results, so I don't think there's any downside to trying it. Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc. are appreciated!

Hi

Alopecia is a very unpredictable condition and at this time there is no known cure. It is an autoimmune condition which has really not had a lot of research focus. Maybe in years to come something will be helpful.

Treatments like acupuncture etc. definitely can't hurt but don't feel that it will absolutely grow back your hair. Alopecia often goes into remission for no apparent reason, so never give up hope.
