i dont think my wig will work with the water and keeping it on. wear a cap? ugh its soo ugly but i guess if i have to i will. and my eyebrows? they will wash off being that i have to draw them on now...
im sorry i dont mean to sound vain but i am new to alopecia and am completely bald with no hair anywhere on my body just about, so in addiditon to my hair loss, i have no lashes and no eyebrows as well.. im just not sure how i am supposed to enjoy the summer with water sports and all.. any suggestions?

OMG i am the same. i worry about my eyebrows coming off all the time. i always ask "is my brows still on" lol so inconvient. i hate this. so yes now i have to get creative for this summer.
i need to buy all water proof make up now.. im getting my eyebrows tattooed next month im scared but super siked to do it. so at lease i wont have to go to bed and wake up drawing on my brows anymore.. i just cant take it
Hello Soisy,
Bring a friend when you go for the tattooed eyebrow show us the picture after we'd love to see it.
I'm also new to this, though I am lucky enough to still have brows and lashes. I recently went on vacation with my kids, and it was stressful for me to contemplate going into the pool. I didn't want to damage my wig (nor have a sopping wig), and with a two year old, staying out of the water was not an option. I could have gone the conservative route and worn an old wig (if I had one) and a sun hat and just bobbed around. Instead, it wasn't that important to me to hide my hair loss so I just wore a thin knit cap and held it on when I dove under. I am thinking of getting a swim cap (headcovers.com) has some that seem to offer sufficient coverage for swimming this summer. Ideally I would have something that protects me from sun and that is thin enough I can wear a sun hat over.
I don't know what will work for you, but for me things like going swimming are decision points where I can worry about revealing my hair loss or I can feel that being open about it is the right choice for me because it removes most of the stress. I'm sure there are things I have made excuses about because I didn't feel like dealing with my hair and the world, so it is kind of nice to have some clear boundaries where I won't allow the hair loss to mess with my life.
Hi
There are wigs that you can swim in. I'll put a couple of photo's up of people wearing Freedom wigs and swimming.
Eyebrows...I would suggest the headcovers hairy glue on eyebrows. My daughter wore something similar and they stayed on well during swimming. I'll also pop a picture up of her wearing similar eyebrows and her freedom wig.
I also like Aimee's alternatives as some people like a more affordable option.

This is my daughter with her Freedom hair on and false eyebrows after going for a swim at a local beach.
One of the girls I have help with Freedom wigs in NZ...underwater shot.
Freedom's lovely Stela in Brazil...watersliding in her Freedom hair.

wow thank you for this. first off the eyebrows look amazing!! i love it.
and secondly i love how the wig looks wet. i will look into this.
thank you so much for sharing this with me. it really helps and means a lot.
I am thinking of trying the eyebrows from headcovers..
Would you recommend them?
before i get mine tattooed im going to try them as well. seems like you cant go wrong with them
Those look real
Hi Ladies
Libbys stick on hairy eyebrows are great and worth a try. They aren't perfect, one of the things I didn't like was a slight wee edge on the very front of the eyebrow. What I loved about them was the 3D look of a very normal looking eyebrow. I personally feel they look great with a fringe to blend the whole look together.
Good luck ...hope they work well for you both.
