Hi,

I am 36 years female old.

I started to lose my hair almost two years  ago. Suddenly , I found bold spot on my head. Size is like penny and its has some growing hair.

No , one in my family has Alopecia. After , lot of search I find out that I have alopecia. So , finally I met Dem.

He examed ( not biopsy only blood work to check my thyroid )and said I have two kind of alopecia ( alopecia ariata and androgenic alopecia)

He said he could treat my androgenic alopecia . But , not alopecia ariata

He gave me prescription for birth control Azutte  and spironolactone.

I was not sexual active  but still he prefer I have to take birth control so its going to help me with my  hair.

Its almost year I am taking medication. Now , I have hair regrowth on bold spot . Also , there is no more bold spot. But , still I am losing hair from my front .

I am confused and birth control make me very depress. I am trying to don't get stress . Since , stress can cause alopecia.

I talked with Dr and he changed my birth control to Yaz and also prescribed me Finastoried .

Is Finastoried  helpful ?Any  information will be help full.

Thanks

Mellisa

I Finasteride is one of the only treatments that really work with Androgenic Alopecia. The problem is the side effects. Since you suffer already side effects from drugs that interfere the hormone balance in your body it could be unwise to take Finasteride that also manipulates the Hormones in your body. I would ask again you doctor about all possible side effects. Perhaps Minoxidil for women would be a better solution for you. It is more safe and does not interfere with your hormones.

Thanks for your replies. Well , I don't have any bold space any more but I am still losing hair and my hair become very thin . I don't know what I have to do for my thinning hair. My Dem did only lab work blood test but not biopsy.
