I have been battling Alopecia for a few years on and off, which have been minor all things considered. Recently, while trying to find a cause for the autoimmune response, I was sent to an immunologist. After a lengthy interview, I was tested for several mammalian meat allergies and ultimately diagnosed with an allergy to alpha-gal.

I cannot eat any meat from anything with fur. Birds and fish are OK. The bad part is that there is meat byproduct in EVERYTHING including benadryl, dryer sheets, toothpaste, and so much more.

Once I eliminated all meat and dairy, my hair grew back immediately. That is what caused My Alopecia.

The symptoms included itchy scalp, hands, and feet, low BP, high BP, swelling, and anaphylaxis. The hard part is that it can be 3-12 hours after ingestion before you react. I lived with it for years I'm sure and never put it together.
