HI. I've had AU for 5 years and have always worn Amy's Presence cyberhair. It has worked well for me, but I'm tired of not having the feel of real hair, tired of taping it to the back of my neck, and just ready for something different. Has anyone had these and then switched to the vacuum? If so, good or bad? Any help would be appreciated! And what I'm really wanting is one I can sleep in a lot of the time......is that an option with any wigs yet?

Hi

I always feel that comparisons are not what you need when making a decision about a hairpiece. You need to work out your needs and talk to those who understand (fully) the product you are asking about. I think when comparisons are made people can become upset by the negativity that often goes along with that. People choose hairpieces for varied reasons and to poo poo somebodies choice is neither helpful or constructive. Another thing that can happen is you are trying to compare apples with pears. Every hairpiece has inherent qualities and solutions that are individual to that product.

If you want to understand people's opinions I feel you need to be aware that not all information given will be helpful or knowledgeable. So be careful.

I am able to help you with any information you may need about the Freedom Vacuum Hairpiece. There is also a group here where those that wear this type of hairpiece can chat to each other and get informed help with this particular hairpiece. The group is called - alopecians who have a freedom wig! (or are getting one).

Good luck with your investigations.

Hi - I have had AU 27 years and I have started my own wig business recently (Undercover Angels) I do Lace Front Wigs and Full Lace Wigs both synthetic and human hair. I wouldn't recomment sleeping in the synthetic!! But I know people who sleep in their full lace human hair wigs. Personally I rip mine off the second I walk in the door but if you want to try something dofferent that could be an option. No pressure at all just letting you know I'm here (also price wise very affordable) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brisbane-Australia/Undercover-Angels/....
I have not worn Amy wigs, but have worn lace ( used tape) and then switched to vacuum. Vacuum wigs are wonderful, there is no comparison in my eyes. But you cannot sleep in them, it causes damage to the hair. Trust me, Ive slept in min maybe 15 times and I had to send it back for repair. Now I have it back and I dont sleep in it, and its lasting much longer without repair. They are expensive and you want to protect them.
undercover angels has nice peices too! Problem with vacuum wigs is a detectable hairline...you have to cut baby hairs in to hide the hairline. Look at my pics for more info.
I just ordered one from Peggy Knight Solution. IT is the Gripper and suppose to be more comfortable than the vacuum one. I won't revcieve it until some time in December but when I tried it on I liked it.
Brandy, do let me know how the gripper turns out. I missed seeing Carmen on her visit to my area because of a circumstance that happened to me. Not that I could really afford the gripper right now anyway. But I would be curious to hear how it works out for you. How much was it? Do you have any hair or not? Do keep me posted on how you like it, and how it is to wash and maintain. Thanks so much.
Hi Brandy, can you give me an update on how you like your gripper? I'm struggling with whether to get the gripper or vacuum. Thanks!
