I have used it for about 8 weeks with no results. I gave up on it a couple weeks ago. Your supposed to give it at least 12 weeks, but i really feel there is no use. It seemed that whenever I woke up in the morning there were flakes of skin all over my pillow and somethimes I would unknowingly scratch my head until it would bleed While I was sleeping because it was so itchey. It was worth trying though.
The only thing that worked for me was cortisone injections in the back of my arm the very first time I realized that I had alopecia, my hair grew back. But a year later when It started to fall out again, I didnt want to go that route because of the side effects of the cortisone (for me weight gain, crying alot missing periods and having too many periods). Since i chose to wait til my hair was almost gone to take prednisone cortizone shots in the scalp, none of that worked. I am doing so much better now though at accepting this whole situation now i have to say.

I have been thinking of trying accupuncture. Did that help by destressing you?Its so weird i know theres no real answer why this happens to us but ive told myself it was from drinking to much soymilk because it raises estrogen levels or one time I did a colon cleanse from a homeopatic store or dying my hair too much. But most of all i blamed it on stress. Now though I pretty much believe it was not really predictable.
We must be twins! I have tried the same things! We I was young I did the shots only they were in my head. They stopped once all my hair was gone. I was lucky enough to have my hair grow back for my grade 12 graduation. Shortly after that it all fell out again. The crying, a lot of periods and having to many is my life story. Just recently I did try the dpcp and had to discontinue treatments because like yourself my head was very itchy, dry and I was having a lot of headaches.
Tried it. With no results. I went full course of 12-14 weeks. Absolutely nothing but really bad headaches, dry skin and very sensitive.
I also tried diphenylcyclopropenone in trial pack, a friend brought back from Iran. It did not work either.

Your mileage may vary...
I am currently doing DPCP treatment and my hair is growing! I've been doing the weekly treatments since Jan. 2010. It's not an easy treatment to deal with, but I'm willing to stick with it to see what happens. I have also been doing some acupuncture and have been seeing a Naturopath. All of that is more to help deal with stress and anxiety that has been brought on by my many ongoing health issues. There is never an easy answer, is there?
