Anyone have experience with Natural Advantage™ Hair Replacement? I have a consultation next friday!

I am wondering has experience or uses this Hair replacement system. I am really excited because it sounds great, I am really scarred to find out the cost when I go to the consultation, they wouldn't give me a figure over the phone.

Here's some info from there page:

For those who have experienced more significant, permanent hair loss, Natural Advantage™ Hair Non-surgical Hair Replacement provides:

* A completely natural-looking hairline
* A non-surgical solution for those with extreme hair loss
* A full head of hair that looks, feels and acts like natural hair
* An active lifestyle - swim, sleep, workout and shower without worrying about your hair!
* The ability to travel all over the country and have access to all Natural Advantage styling salons

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

With any decision around hairpieces you just need to use your common sense. There are people on this site that like all types of hairpieces and their is very seldom any bad behaviour when it comes to advise giving.

Do your investigating with an open mind and do your best to be honest with what your own needs are. There are some pluses and negatives for all types of hairpieces. But in my opinion if you go in with a clear understanding of your own needs that are realistic with the understanding that nothing is going to be as good as your own growing hair, I believe you will be able to wade through the information you get - learning along the way.

All people's opinions will have a bias for what has worked for them. I would steer clear of any negativity and bad behaviour as that is often self serving and unhelpful.

These are some of the questions I would think about for yourself and your possible hair piece supplier/maker.

1. What are the things you are trying to achieve with a hairpiece, for me when I was looking for my daughter the following guided me with some of my choices. (Realism, comfort, ease of care, security, durabilty).
2. Be realistic about what a hairpiece can and can't do. Sleeping in hairpieces lessens there lifetime(no matter what people say). But if that is an important part of the equation for you, ask about maintenance and the cost around it.
3. There is a lot of talk about hair quality. In my opinion there are really two types of hair Unprocessed Hair and Processed hair.

Unprocessed virgin human hair is something that is collected from the general public of the world (no people farms :)) so it is like the hair that you see growing from people's heads. No secrets about this type of hair as it is as varied as the people you see in the general public and has as much variation. Companies that use this type of hair are few and far between, as it is both rare and difficult to source. (Beautiful though).

Processed hair - has been chemically changed to enable it to be more easily used in certain types of hairpieces - it's is far more readily available and cheaper than unprocessed human hair. People often talk about differing types and it can become quite overwhelming and confusing. In my opinion all you need to know is that if it is processed or not. If it is processed - ask the following type questions. Has it been coated in silicone? What colour was this hair originally? (If it was black and is now blonde I would believe that would require an extreme amount of processing which may not work for your needs). Am I able to process the hair once I get my wig? (All hair fades in hairpieces and you need to understand if this happens are you able to remedy the colour fading). What sort of results are people getting that do colour their processed hair?

4. What is your lifestyle, therefore what is important for you with regards to a hairpiece?

Always take your time when dealing with any wig supplier/maker as you need to absorb the information given with a clear mind. Try to be as unemotional as possible thinking long and hard about what is really going to work for you and your life. This can be a very emotionally draining decision, make sure you are informed by those who really understand the product you are looking at so you can be responsible and accountable for your choices and I know you will find something that works well for you.

I have always trusted my own council and worked with people that are honest and upfront about their product. Just be aware and you will be ok.
I wish you well with your investigations.
