Hi all.

I just wanted to let you know my experience taking Berberine which is a herbal supplement which people believe and reports shown that it may be a JAK inhibitor. I noticed people where buying it a few months ago but I haven't seen any posts about it yet. I bought the supplement start of September I bought Glycox 500 with Berberine from Amazon, it seemed to be what others where buying, they are 500mg Berberine per capsule. I have moderate AA probably 25% hairloss and I was diagnosed with AA in May. With my first bottle of capsules I was taking two a day, Since taking the supplement I have seen some hair growth in the last 5 weeks of taking it, actual hair growth all over tiny white hairs in all bald spots of my patches and crazy white hair growth all of what used to be my stubble on my chin and face, quite remarkable really!

The hair growth I could put down to possibly 3 things, 1. A steroid lotion prescribed by the doctor applies to patches on my head(but doesn't explain the growth on my face, 2. It could be spontaneous regrowth which is very possible or 3. it could be the Berberine. It seems odd that my regrowth coincides with taking Berberine but then again this is Alopecia so absolutely anything is possible!

What might be working for me may not work for others but I just wanted to let people know my experience. I know there are others that mentioned they are trying this supplement, so please share your experiences so we can see if it works for others too.

Thanks Taz

Awesome, I have heard about this too but wasn't sure what to think of it. I notice on google there are several pages suggesting that Berberine is a selective inhibitor of JAK3. So it could be that.  I would like to hear more about on this. Keep us posted!

Cheap Minoxidil without a prescription - https://pharmacy-medshop.com/product/rogaine-5-/ I had heard of Minoxidil for hair loss but had never tried them until I saw that I was losing too much hair. I spent several months following the treatment and quickly saw the results I wanted: strong hair and less hair loss. I highly recommend Minoxidil.

im gonna get some and try it..

Did you try this?  Any luck?

keep us posted, thanks for sharing

I did start taking it for about two months, but then stopped because my dermatologist started DCPC treatments and I did not think I should do both.  Right before I started the DCPC though, I noticed a lot of new white growth all over my head.  I am thinking about taking it again as I think it was really starting to kick in.  I was taking the Thorn Berberine - 500.  I don't know if one is better than another.

How long have you been taking Berberine before you noticed the peach fuzz?

Wow this is great news. I am happy for your early results. Also, where did you read that it is a JAK inhibitor?
Thanks for your reply Starshine it's nice to hear from other people that this supplement has had a positive affect on them.

If you google Berberime and JAk3 inhibitor you will find various scientific information on the effect of berberine on mammals suffering from inflammation conditions that Berberine has helped with.
Thank you

Hey this is really great news, I was wondering if you had any side effects, I looked online and it seems there are barely any. Also, I see that the product on amazon is for lowering your blood sugar, do you think it's okay to take even if you don't have high blood sugar?

Just ordered it and I have AU so hope it works out for me.

Hi Dudeman,
I had exactly the same concerns as you before I started taking it, so much as that I had the supplement in my cupboard for about 6 weeks even before i started taking it out of fear about the blood sugar thing and I couldn't get a docs appointment for 6 weeks to ask the questions, and nothing was telling me online. In the end my hair loss started getting so ferocious that I didn't feel i had a choice, no other hopes and if anything was going to work it might be this! So i just started taking it and i think I am 7 weeks down now and not experienced any changes in my body don't seem to have any side effects and I'm happy with it...

Don't get me wrong it's not perfect, i don't have a head of shiny new hair now. My hair still is falling out which is disappointing but on the other hand it is growing back too, I think maybe it has to fall out for new hairs to grow who knows, I'm still not 100% sure it's going to work, it is working now but it might stop tomorrow you just never know with this condition.

good luck with choices you make.
